The Interdisciplinary Experience of Moving with Poetry
Join us to celebrate the rhythms, images and personal expression of poetry in your physical education and dance programs. This session will demonstrate a practical approach to developing, implementing and assessing a complete lesson unit focused on using poetry to introduce dance to your students. Learn three dances you can teach using the humorous poetry of Shel Silverstein. The session will focus on the Fancy Dive, The Homework Machine and the Dancing Pants. Additional American poetry resources and ideas will be included. April is National Poetry Month, so join in the fun and celebrate.
