Working in the Coal Mine: An Integrated Approach to Folk Dance
Integrated learning through folk dance. Participants will learn a traditional Japanese folk dance about coal mining - Tanko Bushi. After learning the dance and discussing coal mining as well as other aspects of the Japanese culture, participants will talk about coal mining in the United States and create their own version of a coal mining dance.
