Survival Training for New Department Chairs
The purpose of this session is to provide tips for success in administration. This session offers new chairs and those considering administration with an introduction to success-oriented management. A recognized expert/speaker on leadership, and department head at the United States Military Academy at West Point, focuses on the “need to lead.” In addition, comments and experiences are provided by a “rookie” chair as well as a veteran department chair. A perspective from a former chair will also be offered. Finally, time for questions and discussion will conclude the session. Attendees will leave with practical tools for effective administration and leadership.
