How Grading Can Be A Powerful Teaching Tool
This session will explore the difficulties faced by teachers who need to motivate junior and senior high school physical education students. It will examine the benefits of using rubrics with specific progressive performance goals. It will explain how to create such a rubric, the value of helping kids aim for an achievable "A" and how to use defined goals to enhance motivation, learning and participation. This session will show how teachers, who set clear goals, become better at reinforcing positive student behavior and better at grading their progress.
