| From Mars to Earth - Fitness Testing in the Real World | ||
| Structure | Measurement and Evaluation Council | |
| Description | This session provides helpful, realistic strategies for administering fitness tests to large groups of students in a typical school setting. Administering a complete fitness test battery to a class of children can pose problems such as (a) insufficient space, time, staff, and equipment; (b) privacy (in the case of measuring body composition); and (c) motivation (in the case of performers at the lower end). Audience participation in components of the FITNESSGRAM test battery will be used to illustrate a variety of strategies that lead to an efficient testing environment that can be fun for children and minimize periods of inactivity. | |
