The Use of Distance Learning in Adapted Physical Activity

DescriptionDistance learning offers exciting opportunities for disseminating knowledge about adapted physical activity to persons with a disability who learn best via technological approaches and to teachers and prospective teachers without ready access to traditional courses. On-line modules can also be used to enhance traditional course instruction. The focus of this interactive panel session is the course design, pedagogical strategies, and student learning outcomes associated with distance learning courses in adapted physical activity as offered at four major universities. The audience will gain an appreciation of technology as a teaching tool and potential applications of distance learning in adapted physical activity.
