StructureCouncil on Aging and Adult Development
DescriptionWhat factors motivate older adults themselves to stay actively engaged in community and university based exercise programs? This workshop will (1) provide guidelines for implementing exercise and health promotion programs for older adults in university and community based settings, (2) provide effective strategies for maintaining program participation, and (3) explore the impact physical activity has on the aging process through the eyes of active older adults themselves. The presenters will focus on specific strategies for initiating programs for seniors and include valuable application-oriented information on fitness assessment, facilitation of social and intergenerational interactions and maintenance strategies.
