The Sweetwater District is proactive against the number one health risk: violence through two model programs: Silence the Violence, a middle school peer education program, teaches students anger management and conflict resolution skills incorporating a comprehensive social marketing campaign to diminish violence on campus and in the community. Culture of Lawfulness, a high school crime and corruption prevention unit, part of a binational effort with Mexico along with Washington, D.C., changes student awareness and attitudes as part of the war on crime and involves law enforcement. Lead teachers and students will demonstrate key concepts and provide contacts for implementation.
