Federal funding to support HIV and AIDS prevention programs and activities and that to support medical and social services for the HIV infected and persons living with AIDS have been managed by separate agencies (CDC and HRSA). This contributed to a lack of communication and collaboration between the professionals guiding prevention programs and activities and those guiding medical and social service programs and activities. In the past two years, considerable effort has been expended to increase the articulation between these two groups of professionals. This session will report the relative success of at least three statewide programs devoted to improving this situation.
