Considerations in HIV/AIDS Prevention Education for Youth and Young Adults of Diverse Racial, Ethnic and Cultural Heritage

The overall goal of the session is to increase learning opportunities for culturally relevant HIV/AIDS prevention educatin for youth and young adults of diverse backgrounds. The presentation considers the (a) extent of HIV/AIDS among youth and young adults of diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural heritage; (b) factors that influence their health-risk behaviors; and (c) components of culturally competent HIV/AIDS prevention education programs.
