Introducing the Community Dance Program
How to Quick-Teach Participatory Dances (such as Circle Mixers, Squares and Contras) for All Ages. You can teach six basic figures which will build a repertoire, allowing your students to dance contras, squares, Sicilian circles, mixers, and mezcolanzas. Using arm turns, circles, dosados, promenade, stars, and swings, you can teach children from K-12, senior citizens, young adults, or mixed ages in family groups. This quick teach method gets everyone moving to the music in the shortest possible time, whether for a single dance session or multiple classes, for camps, schools, families, seniors and all-same-sex groups. You may use any dancable recorded music, be it popular, seasonal, traditional, or show tunes.
