Keynote Speech: "The Optimal State for Performance"
Evidence is accumulating on the psycho-physiological profile of experts as
to their pre-performance state and when they execute, and when they perform
at their best. Highlighted in this presentation are implications for
understanding the role of cognitive and physiological processes, as well as
effective strategies for performers to use at different stages of skill.
Robert Singer is a professor and the
Department Chair in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences at the
University of Florida. He is one of the major founding researchers for the
field of motor behavior and sport psychology. He has been very active in
our field for the past 40 years. Among many of his achievements, he has
published about 30 books and over 100 refereed research papers in the areas
of motor behavior and sport psychology. He has trained many scholars in the
field. |
