| How to Apply ADA Guidelines to Playgrounds |
| The American’s With Disabilities Act was passed in 1990. The Guidelines for Play Areas was released on October 18, 2000. This session will address the interpretation of those guidelines in relation to playgrounds in schools, community parks and childcare centers. Specific topics to be covered include accessibility to the playground, numbers and types of equipment, ramps and transfer points and appropriate surfacing. |
