Using Metaphors to Inspire, Motivate, and Create: Enhancing Teaching and Coaching Effectiveness |
This session will feature methods to use metaphors to motivate your students, athletes, and you to higher levels of performance in the classroom and on the athletic fields. The motivational qualities of metaphors can transform and elevate performance to new levels. An outline of how to develop effective metaphors and the theory behind how they work will be presented. A demonstration will be given depicting the use of metaphorical stories to inspire and teach students and athletes. This discussion will also explore other motivational techniques that can be applied in classroom and athletic settings. An active learning component will be included. |
