In Support of Goals 2000: Statewide Training in Physical Best
From inception through execution, the New York State model of professional development training as part of Goals 2000 funding will be outlined. This session will present ideas through which others involved in professional development training can join with programs such as Physical Best to provide large-scale, affordable and high-quality continuing education for physical educators. An overview of Physical Best, how it fits into this model and response from grass-roots teachers who have participated in the workshops will be shared. Barriers to implementing such training, and suggestions to overcome them will be offered. The session concludes with a question and answer discussion.
