Sport Injury Concerns: The Female Athlete
Women's sports programs have experienced a meteoric rise over the past two decades. This incredible change in women's sports is due to a number of factors, inluding legislature and judicial mandates, changing social attitudes, change in economic philosphies, number of programs and competitive opportunitites, number of female athletes, and the level of skill and performance. Unfortunately, attention to injury concerns for female athletes has not kept pace with progress in the area of competitive opportunity and performance. The “Sports Injury Concerns: The Female Athlete” program deals with health care issues unique to female athletes and how to eliminate unnecessary risk of harm.
