Children's Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Females in Sport
The feelings of boys and girls in grades five through eight were examined in an effort to determine how they feel about girls playing sports and at what grade levels the boys and girls differ in their attitudes. Authors will discuss the study and compare the results to a similar study done in 1973. With this information, physical educators may be able to see changes that have occurred since Title IX was enacted. In addition, physical educators may be able to further foster a positive attitude among children towards females in sports.
