Integration in Elementary Dance and Physical Education-Thematic Teaching |
This session will demonstrate the importance of utilizing thematic units to connect dance and physical education to the elementary school curriculum of language arts, science, social studies, math and health. Participants will learn that by connecting dance activities with other academic concepts creates a holistic interdisciplinary environment for students. There are over 100 thematic topics that can be integrated through academics and movement activities consisting of problem-solving, creative discovery, cooperative learning, critical thinking, and improvisational activities. |
