Interdisciplinary Applications for Youth Sport and Physical Activity: Perspectives from the NASPE Academies |
Representatives form the NASPE Academies (Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Motor Development, Curriculum and Instruction) will discuss interdisciplinary applications to sport and physical education in a 3-part program. In Part 1, panelists will provide an overview of knowledge and competencies in their areas that may be applied in sport and physical education practice. Part 2 will focus on sport and physical activity for youth, and panelists will offer specific applications from their perspectives. Part 3 will be an open discussion with the audience and all panelists on interdisciplinary applications and strategies for combining the academy discipline areas to enhance professional practice in youth sport and physical activity programs. |
