Southeast Asian Students and Interscholastic Sports: Bridging the Participation Gap |
Each year 6.5 million high school students participate in interscholastic athletics in the United States. In general, minority participation is on the rise. However, the number of Southeastern Asian students participating in organized sports appears to remain well below that of White students. This study explores the reasons for the under representation of Southeast Asian students in interscholastic athletics, and offers recommendations for improving Southeast Asian students' participation in interscholastic sports. |
