The Business-Education-Society Nexus: Contemporary Perspectives on Sport Management Curricula
The purpose of this workshop is to discuss the function and significance of the business-education-society nexus in the academic preparation of sport managers. Focusing on the intersection of business interests, academic responsibility, and societal concerns, sport management educators from a NASPE-NASSM approved program will present ways they address socio-cultural issues in various courses. Course materials and strategies will be shared to stimulate discussion about connections between the classroom and the business of sport in American society. Attendees are encouraged to bring similar course materials and strategies to share.
