Character and Values Education: Promoting Positive Character Traits Through Self-Defense |
All teachers today are interested in inculcating positive character traits in their students. This presentation will provide teachers with specific hands-on strategies that will promote the development of positive student values. The speaker will discuss how basic self-defense instruction (no experience required), when combined with specific teaching strategies and effective classroom management, can positively influence students’ character and values development. Attendees will be provided two specific teaching tools, three classroom management techniques, and an ‘Educating for Character’ component checklist for use in beginning a self-defense unit in their school. |
