Corporate/Industrial Athletic Training at the John F. Kennedy Space Center
Corporate/industrial athletic training is a relatively new employment setting in the field of athletic training. Mary K. Kirkland, ATC/L, CSCS, a Bionetics employee at the John F. Kennedy Space Center for the past 11 years, developed and now supervises the Kennedy Space Center RehabWorks. This on-site facility provides for the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of the nearly 15,000 employees at the Kennedy Space Center and the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. In this session, you will learn about corporate/industrial athletic training and the industrial athlete, the development and operation of a corporate/industrial athletic training facility, analysis of program metrics and an audiovisual experience of the workings at the Kennedy Space Center.
