Psychology of Performance Injury |
This session will present a lecture/discussion based on a two-fold academic model covering psychological aspects of performance injury. First, issues of orientation and antecedents to injury, psychological implications, and roles of a sport medicine team, including athletic trainers, sport physicians, sport psychologists, athletes, and coaches will be discussed. Secondly, common psychological skills training techniques will be presented as an important contributor in addressing emotional and behavioral response to injury. |
