MASSPEC Day: Martial Arts in PE, Kickin’ in a New Lifelong Activity |
Many PE teachers recognize the tremendous physical fitness and self-esteem benefits that can be derived through participating in martial arts, but lack the training to include it in their elementary or secondary curriculum. The participants in this session will be presented in a very systematic, non-contact, and confidence-building approach to expose their students to several introductory-level martial art strikes and kicks followed by instruction as to how to combine these skills with music for an exciting fitness workout. |
