Alone in a Crowd? Connecting Students and Content in Physical Education
Physical educators want and need student engagement in their classes, but teachers rarely experience it from all students. Why do some students engage in physical education while others do not? This session will address the underlying constructs of student engagement as well as provide a forum for teachers and teacher educators to share their insights into the challenge of student engagement. Discussions and activities will focus on developing teacher knowledge of potential impediments to engagement and practical solutions to reverse the negative trend of student disengagement.
