COPEC Day: EPEC in Action: Effective Lessons for K-5 Physical Education |
The Exemplary Physical Education Curriculum (EPEC) is an exciting new curriculum developed in Michigan. EPEC shifts the emphasis of physical education away from merely keeping children busy, happy and good, toward instruction based on clearly stated outcomes. The EPEC lessons were designed using research on effective instruction. Each lesson has clearly delineated lesson objectives that are based on small learning steps for the program objectives included in the curriculum. This session will address the important components of effective lessons and the documented student outcomes resulting from using EPEC lessons. A majority of the time, attendees will participate in EPEC lessons. |
