Rethinking the Stretching Program: Recent Findings on Performance and Injury
This session examines the common practice of stretching during warm-up because it is believed to reduce the risk of injury and improve performance. Recent research calling these assumptions into question will be presented, and current recommendations for stretching will be discussed in a question and answer session. Coaches and physical educators will learn how to best incorporate stretching into practice and conditioning programs.
