Sport Violence and the Courts: Sport Leadership’s Greatest Challenge |
Player on player violence, player on coach violence and player on official violence create new challenges for leadership’s role in today’s sport culture. Understanding sport violence and judicial court rulings is vital for athletic directors, coaches and student athletes. It is important for today’s sport culture to know, understand, and appreciate the “contact sport exception” rulings. Recent court cases and court decisions will be discussed. Positive leadership strategies for athletic directors and coaches will be presented to assist in following the law and in preventing sport violence in athletic programs. |
