The intent of this program is to illustrate how public school physical educators and higher education faculty from Vermont came together to demonstrate the relationship of physical education to the Vermont Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities. This presentation will include the historical context of the development of the State Standards and a discussion of the process that these professionals undertook to illustrate physical education’s importance in public education in the State of Vermont and their success in gaining approval of a revision to a standard that more appropriately represents physical education content.
