Issues in Field Based Research and Diverse Populations
The purpose of this presentation is to address specific issues that arise when conducting field-based research with diverse populations. Particular focus will be placed on research with people with disabilities across age, gender, ethnic and socioeconomic classification. There are many complications associated with field-based research and typical populations, however, there are additional specific factors that accompany working with people with disabilities. This presentation will address these factors and provide novice investigators with information needed to conduct research with diverse populations in a more efficient manner.
