Training Your Peer Tutors for Your Inclusive Physical Education Class
Peer tutoring programs take some careful planning and consideration in order to be successful. Interestingly, studies have demonstrated that peer tutoring has proven to improve academic learning time, physical activity, socialization, opportunity to respond, and time on task. Some of these studies have also shown that trained peer tutors are more effective than untrained peer tutors. This session will teach teachers a variety of ways to train peer tutors utilizing many handouts, videos and simulations. During this presentation, some students from a local school will participate and be trained themselves.
