Incorporating Standards / Assessment into Physical Education for Students with Disabilities |
Increasingly, students with disabilities, including those with severe disabilities, are participating in regular physical education classes. Concurrently, teachers are being asked to align their curriculum with current national standards and age appropriate benchmarks. The challenge facing physical education teachers is how to best provide standards based teaching within classroom practices for all students, including those with disabilities. A secondary challenge is the development of appropriate assessments compatible with targeted standards. This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of how to apply standards, benchmarks, and assessments to all students. |
