Playground Games for Elementary Students
The games children play offer an excellent opportunity for growth and learning. Therefore, this presentation will provide numerous games that can be played on the playground during recess or physical education class. The games that will be presented combine mental and physical skills, and can be used to teach good sportsmanship, fairness, taking turns, and a number of other personal and social values. General playground games, tag games, races and relays and ball games will be covered. Participants will also (1) receive numerous handouts including tips for leading playground games, a list of playground games/rules/etc. (2) participate in playing the games, (3) share their playground ideas with other participants of the session.
