The Body Image Obsession: Teaching Ideas to Reduce Related Disorders
Body image concerns, dieting, disordered eating and compulsive exercise hold a powerful grip on many of our nation’s youth and millions of adults. With so many people in America concerned with how they look, it is imperative that educators are both knowledgeable and capable of teaching what constitutes healthy and unhealthy approaches toward one’s body image. This session will provide participants with an update on eating disorders, dieting, bigorexia and exercise addiction. Additionally, it will explore innovative teaching ideas for helping learners develop more positive attitudes and understandings that will enhance a healthier body image.
