Using Current Technologies to Increase Your Effectiveness as a Health Educator |
The amount of information available on the World Wide Web and the sophistication of computer software programs often seem overwhelming. However, both resources can provide health educators with unique opportunities to keep up-to-date on health related information; create educational materials; create marketing materials; manage program administration; and record, analyze and interpret program evaluation results. The purpose of this session is twofold: 1) to teach health educators how to find health-related information on the World Wide Web and evaluate the quality of that information and 2) to provide an overview of commonly available software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Outlook) and their potential uses for health educators. "Quick How-To Guides" will be provided for each of the software programs discussed. |
