INCLUSIVENESS IN ACTION: Workshops I and II
Workshop I introduces attendees to therapeutic crafts using natural materials. Participants will develop crafts usable in schools, community centers, camps, and with individuals with disabilities. Benefits will be reviewed with adaptations and leadership procedures appropriate to children and youth of all abilities. Workshop II presents an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Underground Railroad and the good works of the Friends of Freedom Society from Ohio. The organization's founder and president will describe how the organization was born, events surrounding the nation's first civil rights movement, and the establishment of the Underground Railroad as a National Millennium Trail. The background information will be especially insightful for those who are signed up for the Friday, March 30 afternoon tour to sites on the Underground Railroad National Millennium Trail in the river town of Ripley, Ohio.
