Health Promotion Programs for the Millennium: Seniors Alive!
By 2030 adults 65 and older will represent nearly 25% of the U.S. population surpassing the percentage of children and teens. Ninety-five percent of them will be dynamic members of our communities. As health educators, how can we best serve them with health promotion programs relevant to their needs? This session will provide an overview of current programs and their trouble spots, alternative and innovative program implementation strategies (including a faith based community model) as well as methods of delivery. Technology will be discussed focusing on older adults’ attitudes toward and usage of it in the new millennium.
