Incorporating Critical Movement into Elementary Physical Education Lesson Planning |
As physical educators we have been called upon to go beyond the traditional parameters of our discipline and participate in acting as support for the other academic areas. In response to this many physical educators have been attempting to incorporate more cognitive aspects into their classes. The role of critical thinking has always been an important aspect of physical activity and is a natural component to more fully integrate with other academic areas of the curriculum. This program will introduce the concept of Critical Movement and demonstrate how it can be applied and integrated into elementary physical education lesson plans and classes. |
