Dancing Feet and Spinning Wheels |
This workshop explores creative and artistic dance education models with two leading presenters. NDA’s National Dance Educator of the Year, Cheryl Willis, explores the basic concepts in building dance education units while incorporating The National Dance Standards into the K-12 curriculum. Cheryl will provide a “crash course” in how to teach the dance concepts: TIME, SPACE and ENERGY. Mary Verdi-Fletcher – with the “Dancing Wheels” Company of stand up and sit down dancers -- will examine hands-on theoretical perceptions of artistically adapted dance. This professionally integrated dance company of international acclaim will perform a finale. Discussion & application of techniques will be included. |
