A Comparison of Three Ballet Techniques: Cecchetti, Bournonville & Vaganova |
When students relocate, quite often they take classes with a new teacher trained in a slightly different way than their previous instructor. The new teacher may see that the child has learned another dance technique than the one emphasized in the present studio. This session will offer participants the opportunity to focus on three popular ballet styles: Cecchetti, Bournonville & Vaganova. This is a participation session including ballet barre work, so members may actually feel what each technique is like. It is hoped that by knowing a little more about each technique there will be more knowledge about ballet training, and how each style can benefit both students and instructors. |
