A Century of Tango Dance
Tango has been referred to as the "dancers dance" or the "dance of love" or "a wrestling match on the dance floor." To understand the many faces of Tango, you must become aware of the background of the culture in which it developed. Participants will learn a variety of techniques, beginning with the early Argentine forms during the early 20th century through ballroom and the currently popular Argentine improvisational styles. A variety of traditional and current Tango music will be used.
