Using Creative Movement Exploration to Enhance Student Self-Esteem |
Movement exploration or creative movement can be used to enhance student self-esteem. The 1999 NDA Scholar/Artist, Sandra Minton, presents this program. Materials included are based on recent research done by the presenter and others in dance, physical education, education and psychology. Participants will learn about a framework for structuring and experiencing explorations designed to increase body awareness, self-understanding, student-to-student relationships and appreciation of one's cultural heritage. A brief review of the research as a rationale upon which these movement materials are based will be presented. |
